Camp is a great addition for your career

Teaching experience, increased confidence, fantastic for your CV… these are just some of your rewards for spending summer at camp.

On the days you’re working, you will develop your teaching, interpersonal and management skills while making a real difference to the lives of the young people in your care.

The experience will let you see if you like working with kids while giving you the opportunity to experience life in another country – not to mention making loads of new friends with people like you.

The right step for your future

Spending your summer at camp in America and gaining all that positive experience is a great sign for future employers who will be impressed you’ve taken positive steps to develop yourself and perhaps move outside your comfort zone – all of which will help you stand out from the crowd.

Indeed, many staff who have gone to camp with Wild Packs have gone on to have fantastic careers, including teaching, sports coaching, au-pair, private school house parent, careers in tourism etc.

Teach one or more of a vast range of activities

You can teach a remarkably diverse range of activities at camp, ranging from sports to the performing arts. For the full list, please check out our ‘Positions at camp’ section and if you have any queries, please contact us and we’ll be happy to advise.

You will spend most days teaching kids aged 7-15 in small groups of around 10, ably assisted by the camp counsellor assigned to each group.

In the evenings, as well as socialising with the other camp staff, you have the opportunity to get involved with the evening activities put on by camp.

You don’t need a specific skill to go

If you think you don’t have a particular hobby, skill or interest you could teach then you could take on one of the cabin counsellor roles which, as well as taking the kids to each activity, require you to run the evening activities.

The best way to find out what you could do is to get in touch with Wild Packs and we’ll be happy to advise. Even if you think you don’t have skills or experience then there are often ways to get that in time to be able to go to camp.
