Tip 1: Set Alerts & Use Trusted Comparison Sites for Cheap USA Flights
One of the easiest ways to find the cheapest flights to America is by using flight comparison websites. Not only will these allow you to compare flight price differences year-round, but they also have the option to set alerts for your desired flight route, so you are instantly informed about any price changes and deals via email.
Here are some of the best recommendations for flight comparison sites:
- Skyscanner – more than 100 million people use the Skyscanner app/website monthly to find the best flight deals. Not only will it help you find cheap USA flights, it can also compare prices for hotels/car rentals to make all your holiday transport needs affordable.
- KAYAK – KAYAK’s goal is to simplify online travel searches and make affordable travel accessible. It has many benefits such as providing price trends for different cities and a nifty ‘fee assistant’ tool that shows how much your flight will cost with your luggage add-ons.
- Skiplagged – Skiplagged is an easy-to-use site that saves users money by use of hidden city ticketing, which is when a traveller buys a plane ticket and leaves at a stopover location instead of the final destination. Their cheap flight tricks claim to save users an average of 47% on tickets (roughly $180!).

Tip 2: Be Flexible With Your Travel Dates
While Wild Packs summer camps only run between June and August, you can still be flexible with your travel dates in this window to find the cheapest flights to America. Don’t be afraid to look at flying before your camp contract start date if these dates are less expensive – you have 30 days of travel time before your camp begins and when it finishes. Take the opportunity to explore your camp’s city before you arrive on the camp property!
To help you find cheap flights to the USA, we have made a table comparing travel periods and their price increases, with statistics from flight site Hopper’s recent study:
Travel Period | Price Increase | Pros/Cons of Flying at this Time |
End of May to Early June | 10-15% lower than peak season | Travel demand is lower before summer officially begins. |
Mid-June to July | 30-50% higher than early/late summertime | Peak flight season makes it the most expensive time to fly. |
End of July to Early August | 10-20% lower than mid-summertime | Prices decrease as demand eases towards the end of summer. |
Mid-August | 20-30% lower than early summertime | Airlines release deals as travel demand decreases towards the end of summer. |
Tip 3: Find the Cheapest Place to Fly in America
When booking cheap flights to the USA, it is important to consider which location is the most inexpensive. It is always worth looking at both major city airports and local ones to see which is most affordable – but don’t forget to check if your camp is picking you up from the airport. If they are, make sure to fly into the correct one!

Booking your flights early is one of the most cost-effective ways to travel. Not only does it save that precious holiday fund, but it also saves you the panic of last-minute booking. Here are some of the key benefits of booking your flights far in advance:
- More Flight Options – securing your flights early allows you a greater choice of travel options. Put those cheap flight tricks to use and find better flight locations, times and connections.
- Lower Prices – a 2024 Expedia report showed that you can save an average of 10% when booking international flights 60 days in advance. Book in early and grab those cheap flights to the USA!
- Flexible Dates Give Flexible Prices – as we covered before, having flexibility with your travel dates allows you to find the most affordable options. Booking early means more flight availability in the summer months, allowing you to pick the cheapest travel period.
- Less Stress – having your summer camp travel booked early saves you a lot of stress down the line. Dodge last-minute booking anxiety and enjoy your camp prep time by securing flights in advance.
