Welcome to the Wild Packs Summer Camps

 

I thought I would take the time to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about the story behind our summer camp mission.

 

My name is Jamie Fraser and I am the director here at Wild Packs summer camps. I have been involved in the summer camp industry for over ten years now, with eight of them spent working in various roles on summer camps across the USA. (Don’t let my accent confuse you, I am Scottish, I have just spent a great deal of time repeating myself to American teenagers.)

I have no idea why we don’t have these kinds of camps in the UK already because I believe there is a huge need for them. Wild Packs was started with the aim of opening fully residential summer camps here in the UK and although the process continues to be a challenging one, we are well on our way. The hope is to re-create the same kind of environment enjoyed by around eleven million children on ten thousand odd summer camps all across the US every year.

 

 

I think it is also important to tell you why we don’t offer one week placements. In my experience and the experience of my staff, you really cannot expect to make a true impact on any individual in six days, nor can you expect them to fully relax in their surroundings.  Ideally I would have all campers come for four weeks but that is not feasible in the UK. Our team and program is geared to giving every camper a well rounded quality experience. One that will have a positive effect on their lives well beyond the summer. We stand a better chance of achieving this goal if we have at least two weeks with them.

 

I have experienced firsthand the positive impact the true summer camp experience has on children of all ages and I am determined to offer the same experience to children in the United Kingdom.  Wild Packs camps are a 100% positive story offering an environment where teens can relax and do something productive and exciting with their summer.

 

I appreciate that you are entrusting us with the most the most precious things in your life. You have my word that we will take great care of your child and insure they are watched over and supported for as long as they are in are care. Both myself and my team look forward to helping you give your children a brilliant summer holiday and thank you in advance for supporting us in our mission to bring these camps to the UK.
