Fitness Camp

Would your child benefit from an exercise focused camp? Are you in interested in your child’s health and physical fitness? Wild Packs has long-standing relationships with a variety of fitness-centred summer camps located all over the United States. The best thing about camps that focus primarily on improving your child’s health is that their entire activities program matches that offered by a traditional camp. They will still have the unbelievable range of activities to choose from each day, however here, there will also be additional sessions spent on nutrition and food preparation, working out a personal fitness program and also high-impact aerobic and dance sessions. Like traditional camps, at a fitness camp the children live in wooden cabins that are divided by gender. The cabins are fully-equipped with electricity and will have en-suite bathrooms either within them or nearby. Most camps will be co-ed with groups of male and female campers enjoying the activities together. These camps also offer regular large events which all campers participate in together; examples include Colour Wars, Olympic Games, Eco Challenge and Carnival Day. A fitness camp is a fantastic environment for your child to enjoy a typical summer camp experience with the advantage of a specific focus on health and exercise.

All staff employed to work at a fitness-based camp are selected for their extensive experience in a chosen field, their understanding of the necessity of respecting each individual on their own needs, and their passion for promoting the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Each camper will be fully supported and integrated into each part of camp life. A fitness camp is a unique and safe environment where campers are encouraged to try new activities and to challenge their boundaries.

A typical day here will be the same as at most other camps, packed with activity from sunrise to sunset. The defining difference is that campers are going to be pushed to achieve their personal goals; this could be in weight loss, stamina or in mastering a chosen sport. The camp staff is very motivational and the program is designed to get campers moving and then kept moving. The day will start around 8am, followed by breakfast, a cabin activity, and then it’s straight into three morning activities that they have already signed up for with their new friends. Break for lunch and then it’s back to the fun for another three activities in the afternoon. Come evening it's shower time, dinner and then an evening activity, which could take the form of an all camp dance or to watch a live stunt show! Bedtime varies on age but, by the time it gets to 10pm, campers are going to want to get some rest for the next day.

Who can go?

The fundamental tenet of a fitness camp is that no child will be singled out for their size; there is no stigma when everyone is in the same boat. The camp environment is designed to help discover a child’s hidden talents and then nurture them throughout the summer. Each child must demonstrate a desire to improve their health and a willingness to work on their personal fitness. Weight-loss and emotional growth does not need to end at camp; all fitness camps are committed to helping campers with their confidence evolution in a specially crafted post-camp support system.

What happens?

The campers who recognise the opportunities that a fitness camp offers as motivating and empowering will undoubtedly achieve the most success. The blending of important lessons on nutrition with fun fitness-focused activities is geared towards helping children yield noticeable results.  With a strong after-care program from the camp, children can carry their new knowledge and healthy habits into their homes and schools throughout the year.

A fitness camp is a real chance for your child to change their lifestyle, boost self-esteem, feel better about themselves and if you think they’re up for the challenge, then give us a call and let’s talk some more about it.
