Camp Lagganlia
Summer Teen Adventure
Welcome to Camp Lagganlia, the first Wild Packs, fully residential, adventure summer camp program based here in the UK. Lagganlia is the only summer camp program of its kind running in the UK and this summer will be offering a very limited number of places for two or four week sessions. The program is geared towards teens aged 11.5 to 16 and as you will see, we offer one of the most comprehensive, exciting and structured programs currently running in Britain.
Lagganlia by definition is an adventure sports camp for teens with a focus on helping each individual believe in themselves and their own abilities. Our program aims not only to provide the opportunity to try new and adventurous activities, but actually attaining a quantifiable level of proficiency that can be built upon after camp. Wild Packs camps are not just about the time you spend with us, they are about helping you define your interests and providing you with important life skills that you can take beyond camp.
The camp, based in the Cairngorm National Park in the Scottish Highlands, has an emphasis on building self esteem, confidence and healthy eating, and will encourage children to challenge themselves in a safe and secure environment. Main activities are chosen by the campers depending on their own unique interests, with all additional time consumed by our tried and tested program geared especially towards teens. We provide all equipment necessary and our program costs are all inclusive.
Our teen adventure summer camps are run as co-ed programs and the split between male and female camper is around 50/50. Although all activities are run co-ed, the campers sleep in single sex dormitories or lodges under the close supervision of our staff team. There are also many occasions during the summer where activities will not be co-ed. It is better to have a little separation now and then.
Camp Lagganlia is a great opportunity for teens to spend part of their summer in a very positive and creative environment. They will make some fantastic new friends both with their fellow campers and the staff. We endeavour to cater for all abilities and all children will hopefully leave the camp having achieved certification in first aid / CPR, as well as at least two main skill sections such as Canoeing or Mountaineering.
All students will stay on site in our purpose built accommodation which takes the form of either small dorm rooms or stand alone chalets. Campers will only share accommodation with those of a similar age and we will endeavour to keep friends together where possible.
All rooms have ample electrical outlets and there is no limit on warm water for campers to warm up after a long day in the cool water of the national park.
Meals are prepared and served on site following a set menu outlined by our registered nutritionist. The balanced, healthy diet will be of a very high quality and students will be encouraged to take part in nutrition and cooking classes as part of their weekly activities program. We believe very strongly in encouraging young people to eat healthily and to teach them the skills necessary to make their own educated choices after camp.
Our approach is not to enforce certain food groups upon everyone but more to educate each camper on why, for example, it is a good idea to try and eat your five a day. We also hope that our cooking classes will allow our teens to be able to cook more than just baked beans on toast!
Interested? We would love to hear from you, but first we recommend you take the time to read through all the pages on this site.
On a point of principle, Wild Packs summer camps do not produce paper brochures, all information can be found on our website or by contacting our team.
