Duke of Edinburgh

Are you currently involved with the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme? If so, then read on and find out how summer camp can help you reach your goals.

It doesn't matter what level of award you are currently working towards, the opportunities at summer camp will help you get closer to achieving your elements and in some cases it can satisfy them entirely.

For those of you currently working on your Gold Award, by spending a summer at camp you will comply with the residential section. Our camp directors are currently reading up on how the program works so that they will be able to sign your book at the end of your stay.

If you are 16/17 and are interested in work placements on a summer camp, we can arrange a “Counsellor in Training” position for you. You will be required to work for most of your summer at the camp and, assuming you do a good job, it can often lead to a full time paid position for future summers. We will advise you about which camp your skills will be placed at. As this is an unpaid placement, it will satisfy the residential aspect and could go towards the volunteer element of your award.

The skills sections on every award level can also be challenged at camp, as you will have the opportunity to try out and perfect a huge range of new and exciting activities. For those of you that already have some great experience in a certain field such as riding or climbing, for example, your camp time can be used to really build on your skills. The extent to which you want to push yourself is entirely up to you, so get in touch with us and let’s find out what type of summer program would best suit your needs.

Once again, your camp director in America will sign your books or complete the online forms for the appropriate sections before you return to the UK.

Register online today and we will get the ball rolling.

WARNING: Summer camp can become very addictive and you may enjoy yourself beyond all comprehension. We cannot be held responsible if you end up returning year, after year, after year, after year after year... (But we will understand because we are all going back for another summer.)
