Summer Program Costs
It is very important that you are applying to work on a summer camp for the right reasons. If you are looking to make pots of cash this summer, this program is not for you. Camps run from mid June ish to mid August.
If you are genuinely excited about the prospect of working with CHILDREN on a summer camp in America and you are happy with simply breaking even on costs, then this is the program for you. We should also stress that will recoup the majority of your costs but it is not a 100% guarantee. We will help you as much as we can but location, age, skill set and time of application, may all have an impact your costs.
There are a few different agencies out there that also work with summer camps and all of them have their own unique way of pitching what they do. The Wild Packs summer camp program is different as we have no registration or interview fees and because we do not charge the camps massive agency fees at the end of the summer, you will hopefully break even on your travel costs.
If you are joining us from the Southern Hemisphere, summer camp is more expensive due to the increased air fares. Our camps however are well aware of this and will do all they can to offer you a contract that goes as far as possible to help you cover the majority of your travel costs.
(Do not be fooled by claims of free flights or that food and accommodation is provided by the agency. Every camp will provide food and accommodation as standard and if you have your flight bought for you, it's cost, along with various admin fees, will be deducted from your salary at the end of the summer.)
So how much is it going to cost you if you do get placed?
For first time staff
£365 / $540 AUS
Upon acceptance to the program, the first £100 “Proof of Intent” is due, ($150 AUS). This is to show us that you are serious about your intentions and is the action we wait for before we will match you with a camp. (It is fully refundable if we fail to find you a spot but please read the term and conditions.)
Once placed, and you are happy with your camp and contract, the balance of £265 ($390 AUS) is due. You visa paperwork will not be processed until the balance has been paid.
Total due to Wild Packs: £365 / $540 AUS
Only when you are placed on a camp and you have your contract in your hand, will you be required to pay off the balance.
This fee includes the cost of your visa sponsor supporting documents, medical insurance for the duration of your stay at camp, 24hr support whilst in America and covers our administrative cost of getting you prepared for camp.
For returning staff
£265 / $390 AUS
You do not have to be an existing Wild Packer to engage our support for this summer.
We will issue visa paperwork once the balance has been settled in full and you have provided the required documentation.
Junior staff
£145 / $230 AUS
Program fee is due in full once a camp agreement has been received. Payment is due within
thirty days.

Flights
We reccomend: Flight Centre
You are responsible for booking and paying for your own flight. We will support you with advice on when you need to depart and where you are travelling to. (Do not be fooled by claims of "free flights", there is no such thing.) You will be able to get a much better deal if you book independently but more importantly, our camp directors regard your flight ticket as final proof of your intention to arrive at camp. Assuming you are organised, average cost of flights are around £440 (but they do fluctuate).
We will put you in touch but if you are super organised:

-
You will need to attend an embassy appointment in London or Belfast to obtain your actual visa. We will book this for you at a cost of of £130.
-
(Returnees, you may be allowed to do a postal visa in which case you will pay for your appointment directly.)
-

CASH BACK: Don’t forget, for every friend you put forward and that we accept, we will pay £25 / $25 AUS towards your program fees and travel expenses!
(This does not apply to direct placements or returning staff switching agencies.)
It is your responsibility to stay in regular contact with your Wild Packs program advisor. Failure to do so may result in the termination of your camp contract and the withdrawal of our support to your application.
We may also recommend you sign yourself up for additional training in a key skill area, prior to the summer. These courses, such as lifeguarding, can come at a cost. This however could make the difference between going to camp and not going to camp.
Remember, it is free to apply and we are happy to answer any of your questions before we start looking at camps with you or ask for any money.
