Waterfront Camp Instructor Jobs

If you are a water baby and would like to apply to work on an American children’s summercamp, then look no further, Wild Packs summer camps have the easiest and best value route and we can almost assure you of a summer camp job.

Just about every camp that we work with has an enormous water sports program and there is always a huge demand for staff with aquatics skills. Whether you are working on the pool or in a lake, if you have existing experience in the following areas, get applying:

Life guarding - swimming - swim instruction - canoeing - kayaking - sailing - windsurfing - boat driving - water skiing - wake boarding - jet skis

It should also be noted that if you are willing to become a lifeguard before the summer, and assuming we have accepted you onto the program, this can often speed up the time it takes to find you a summer camp job.

You will still be living in a bunk with children and you will be as much a part of camp life as any other specialist. Many of our camps will also put you through a lifeguarding course when you get there as people in America would appear to drown differently, so you will need re-trained before the kids arrive. The following videos from Wild Packs staff on camp, will help you put yourself in the role.

Lauren was a Pool lead, lifeguard and swimming instructor

This is a quick video from Anna who worked as a summer camp lifeguard in her main role but when she was not at the lake, she got stuck into all the camp activities her bunk were participating in.

The aquatics department is potentially one of the most dangerous activity areas on camp. You need to understand that the lives of the camp children and the camp staff are in your hands. This is a very exciting and fun job but it needs to be treated with the utmost respect.

If you are considering applying for a role in waterskiing or in boat driving, then have a quick watch of Chenea’s video. Chenea was part of a large camps water ski team but this also involved her being a lifeguard and cabin counsellor.

If you are interested in applying for an aquatics role, please complete the summer camp application form in full. We want you to tell us how wonderful you are and why a camp would be nuts not to offer you a position. Aquatics positions tend to start their training a little earlier in the summer so you need to be able to fly in early June. (10th ish)

If you make an excellent effort and we think we can help you, we will discuss your options and once we are all on the same page, we will get you chatting with actual camp owners. We will also require that you pay the first £100 of your program fees to show us and the camp that you are serious about the program. We call this your “Evidence of intent

The camp director will get in touch and assuming you make a great impression on the phone, fingers crossed they will offer you a position for the summer.

On receipt of your summer camp contract and assuming you are happy with what you have been offered, we will start your visa application.

We have no registration fees and we will not encourage you in any particular direction unless we feel there is a really strong chance of you being successful, You will only ever be put forward for a summer camp job that you understand.

Our total program fees are just £365 but you only need to pay these once you are placed at a camp. The program fee covers your visa forms, SEVIS fees, your medical insurance, help and support in the UK, and of course a 24hr help line while you are in America should you ever get stuck.
