Support staff jobs
Maybe being face to face with the kids is not your thing?
Good news, if the idea of working directly with the campers is a little daunting but you would still love to work in the camp environment, we have the solution. Apply for a summer camp support staff role. These are staff that help run the camp in the background and provide the logistical and operational support to various departments, allowing the whole community to work together efficiently.
These positions come in a verity of roles: Food preparation, General Maintenance (and no you don’t need to be that skilled), Laundry, House Keeping, Chef, Office, Secretarial, Security, to name but a few.
These positions more often than not will allow you the chance to work a little longer on camp and although just as challenging (if not more so) than a general cabin position, you will given your own accommodation and a little more time off than the staff that are living in the bunks with the children.
You will still receive the same level of training on site and you will still be expected to integrate into camp life. The main benefit with these support roles is that you do not have to have any experience working around children, you simply need a great positive attitude to your work and be able to communicate clearly, with a smile on your face.
If you make an excellent effort with your application and we think we can help you, we will discuss your options and once we are all on the same page, we will get you chatting with actual camp owners. We will also require that you pay the first £100 of your program fees to show us and the camp that you are serious about the program. We call this your “Evidence of Intent”. (This amount is fully refundable so long we have not introduced you to a camp).
The camp director will get in touch and assuming you don’t fluff up the call, fingers crossed they will offer you a position for the summer.
On receipt of your contract and assuming you are happy with what you have been offered, we will start your visa application.
We have no registration fees and we will not encourage you in any particular direction unless we feel there is a really strong chance of you being successful.
Our total program fees are just £365 and you only need to pay these once you are placed at a camp. The program fee covers your visa forms, your medical insurance, help and support in the UK, and of course a 24hr help line while you are in America should you ever get stuck.
To apply, please fill in your free staff application and let the summer camp adventures begin.
