Developing your skills

You have heard how much fun it can be, looked at the multitude of options available, glanced at the application form and suddenly realised that you could use a few more skills as “socialising with friends” and “Arts and Crafts” is not quite what they are after. That’s where we can help you.

You stand the best chance of securing a great job on a fantastic camp if you can boast a specific skill that just about every camp is screaming out for. On the following pages you can have a look at the various courses that we have had tailor made to help you gain the skills you need. Courses run from 2 - 7 days and vary in cost depending on content and location.

Courses

We work with nationally accredited centres around the country that have offered these specific courses at greatly reduced prices. You will not only have a blast doing each course but you will hopefully head home with a governing body award, at the very least, a certificate of competence outlining the training subjects covered will be issued by a senior staff instructor. These can then be uploaded to your application form.

All our centres include food and board as part of the course. Travel to and from the site is your responsibility, but we can help you there too.

Every course that we offer covers a skill element that is required by just about every camp. The more you have to offer, the greater your options will be. You don’t have to become a qualified instructor or a world class athlete to help your cause. Simply show willing and give your chosen course everything you have. Most camps will re-train you in specific skill elements before the kids arrive anyway. The trick is to get that position!

What do I do next?

Have a look at our courses pages and get an idea of what is on offer. We recommend you focus in one particular skill genre as camps always prefer a greater level of experience in one main area.

Then check the dates and rates page to make sure you can afford it. (Consider how much money you spend going out each week and how much more you could benefit by spending that money on a skills course.) Once you have made your mind up, fill in our on-line registration form and we will be in touch to get everything booked up.
